One of the things that has occupied my thoughts today is a question about how to build a boot up mixtape for the state of the day. I’m not really thinking about a get psyched up collection of songs. Instead I have been thinking that it might be good to make a recording full of compelling purposes for taking action to help get me start every day.
Today I (pretty much) almost reverted back to writing with pen and paper. It almost happened and it might have been glorious. On the other hand it might have just been an excuse to wander off into less desirable topics.
I’m not exactly sure about the 7 day week. The weekend never seems long enough and working for 5 days straight seems arbitrary and capricious. I’m pretty sure nothing will change. The cadence will remain the same.
The last two weeks have worn me out. A lot has happened. 2015 could be a very big year. It could be a very interesting year.
Beyond my concerns about the nature of the week. Today is always rough every year. It reminds me of how quickly things can change. It reminds me to appreciate the little things and the big things.

Today was all about being present. I pulled a muscle somewhere in my shoulder. I’m not sure how the injury happened. Not only did it disrupt my day, but also it reminded me about striving to be present. That might sound somewhat cliché, but being present in the moment matters. You have to begin the intention of being present. Trips to the grocery store, party supply store, cake store, and Fuzzy’s tacos happened today. Even with all that activity, I did not hit my Fitbit step goal today. My goal for tomorrow is to run 5 miles on the treadmill.
Boston Acoustic engineers built a pretty solid soundbar and wireless subwoofer. I have had one for a couple of years. My new setup has enough space for a full surround sound system. At some point during 2015, I’m going to pick up a surround sound system and a turntable. I’d like to be able to enjoy fully immersive sound while watching movies or listening to albums. The price for a solid surround sound systems seems to have really dropped over the last few years.
Last week I backed a project on Kickstarter for the first time. I backed a new album project Free Dominguez setup called Ghost Notes. Kickstarter projects are pretty interesting. The website seems to have provided artists a platform to raise funds.
Over the last few weeks, I have done a large amount of traveling. I have traveling all over the Midwest. I even managed to try out the picture in picture mode on my HTC One Max.
